Salal Creek slide show

Exiting out Salal Creek Friday from a 7 day traverse across the Bridge Lillooet divide. A solid melt freeze crust had thankfully formed in the alpine over Thursday night which allowed us to ski up and over to Athelney pass from Icemaker glacier early Friday morning. The crust deteriorated as the day progressed and we got lower down the Salal Creek drainage. By the afternoon almost all steep alpine aspects were exhibiting some form of avalanche activity and distant cornice failures were also observed. As expected, extremely hot by the late afternoon.
