We are into a period of daily melt-freeze cycles. On Thursday, 3000m freezing levels will translate to the danger increasing earlier in the day and more natural activity.
No new avalanches were observed or reported on Tuesday.
Crusts exists on all aspects except high north-facing terrain. These crusts are breaking down during the daily melt-freeze cycle. On high, north aspects, dry snow can still be found and small pockets of windslab may exist but are isolated at best. The lower snowpack is strong and well settled.
A ridge of high pressure is over the region bringing mainly clear skies and light winds with a chance of afternoon clouds. Expect a mild freeze on Thursday AM but freezing levels will rise to around 3000m. Expect the same for Friday.
