Avalanche Summary

No significant avalanches were reported over the weekend. Solar radiation on Tuesday may trigger small wet loose avalanches in the recent snow.

If you're heading into the backcountry, please share what you see on the Mountain Information Network: How much new snow was up high? Was it wet or dry? Did you see avalanches?

Snowpack Summary

Upper elevations received 5 to 15 cm of new snow on Monday. A typical spring diurnal pattern is in effect: daytime warming moistens the upper snowpack, while overnight cooling usually forms a hard crust at higher elevations. Lower elevations may not refreeze and are melting out quickly.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • Investigate the bond of the recent snow before committing to your line.
  • Limit exposure to steep, sun exposed slopes, especially when the solar radiation is strong.
