No avalanches observed. Snow surface was soft. Northeast winds were strong at ridgetop but not too much snow was blowing around because the snow surface is now several days old. Good riding was had by all.

Today we sledded at Hanna-Tintina Ridge. Skies were clear and there was a light NE breeze. We saw one size 1.5 loose wet avalanche that probably occurred yesterday, from a steep, sunny ridgecrest at treeline. Otherwise, we saw no new avalanche activity. We found wind affected surface snow from the strong NE winds the past few days. In places the melt-freeze crust is exposed at the surface. We were surprised to find unaffected powder in sheltered areas between 1500m and 1700m. At lower elevations the snow became moist today. It’s our last day of posting MINs for the season! Epic day of exploring the alpine. We saw one natural icefall that didn't pull out a slab on the slope below. We had strong northeast winds all day in the alpine redistributing snow, building wind slab and other wind forms. We spaced out when crossing slopes that were exposed from above and avoided freshly wind loaded slopes.

Today we sledded and skied the Silvertip near the Salmon Glacier. Strong outflow winds from the NE were transporting snow and rapidly building wind slabs on lee features in the alpine. In the morning we found some preserved powder on shady, sheltered aspects in the alpine which made for great skiing. These slopes were beginning to be wind affected though. We saw a few older wind slab and loose wet avalanches, but no new.

This week we are on the Northwest Coast working out of Stewart. Today, near Bear Pass, it was snowing lightly with light winds. We found a trace of new snow over a breakable melt-freeze crust at lower elevations and on sunny slopes. Below this, there is 70cm or so of unconsolidated snow, which overlies the March melt-freeze crust. We found no significant results in a snow pit.

5 days (Apr. 17-21) was spent traversing from the Bear Glacier to Mount Dickie. Loose wets to sz 1 observed on Apr 17 on S-E slopes. Deep persistent slabs to sz 2 on S-E slopes at ~1500-1700m likely releasing during warm up last week. No recent cornice failures observed. With cool clear nights crusts weren't breaking down until late into the afternoon.

Deep areas of deposit approx 4-5 meters deep...much of it 3 meters + deep. This avalanche was channeled into two separate tracks. Photos are of lookers right lobe. Lookers left potentially contains <= amount of snow deposit volume. Another large BTL avy on an adjacent path noted on April 14th looker's left of this path. Details forthcoming.
