Seymour spring skiing
South Coast

Toured up past the sneaker and t-shirt Pump crowds to Seymour summit. Hot, spring conditions everywhere. All aspects had 6-10cm of corn overlying supportive but soft crust, so very edgeable at all angles. Small rollerballs everywhere and some glide cracks noted on the south face of the gully up to Tim Jones Peak. No slide activity noted anywhere. Unable to trigger anything even with turns on 40 degree slopes. One NW sheltered slope at 1360m had 6-8cm of hoar frost. Last turns in the shade at 4pm saw the surface freezing up.
