South Coast Inland, Birkenhead, Duffey, South Chilcotin, Stein, Taseko.
Under current conditions, a fall in steep terrain poses a greater risk than avalanches.
No recent avalanches have been reported.
A thick surface crust with rain runnels caps the snowpack. This crust may break down during daytime warming and direct sun on steep slopes. Surface hoar may exist in areas sheltered from the wind. This is not a concern until it gets buried with snow.
Cornices are reported to be large and looming. Be mindful of them overhead or when travelling on ridge tops.
The snowpack is generally well settled and strong, with no current layers of concern.
Snowpack depth ranges between 150 to 250 cm at treeline elevations.
