Low hazard does not mean no hazard. Use caution in steep, rocky areas with a low snowpack.
The best riding will be found in sheltered terrain at lower elevations.
Over the weekend a few large slab avalanches were reported out of steep, rocky terrain. Since then, conditions have improved and no new avalanches have been reported.
Previous moderate to strong northeast wind has heavily impacted the snow surface in exposed terrain at treeline and alpine elevations. At treeline and below a layer of surface hoar has formed on all aspects. In sheltered terrain, 20 to 40 cm of faceted snow overlies a layer of facets and a crust from late January.
A layer of facets and crust from early December is buried approximately 70 to 110 cm deep.
