Snowpack Summary
Previous moderate to strong wind has heavily impacted the snow surface in exposed terrain at treeline and alpine elevations. At treeline and below a layer of surface hoar has formed on all aspects. In sheltered terrain, 20 to 40 cm of faceted snow overlies a layer of facets on top of a crust from late January.
A layer of facets on top of a crust from early December is buried approximately 70 to 110 cm deep. This layer is generally not a concern in this region at this time.
