Small (size 1) slab avalanches were reported in wind-affected terrain on Saturday, and similar avalanches are still possible.
Wind from various directions has impacted most open areas, redistributing the last available soft snow, even at lower elevations. This wind-affected snow rests on a variable interface with surface hoar or sun crusts. Below this, the snowpack is strong and bonded, with treeline snow depths averaging 150 to 200 cm.
