Nice day touring up to North Queest. Almost no wind, fog at about 2000m. A few millimeters of surface hoar everywhere.
Dug quick pit for column test at about 2040m, NE aspect, north of North Queest summit above steep slope intending to ski. Compression test CTH5 (five taps from shoulder). Small collapse at about 65cm depth, facets when upper column gently pushed off. No obvious layering down to this depth. Top 30cm fairly light, next 30cm quite solid, no finger penetration without pushing hard. Skied steep slope one at a time. Some surface sloughing that ran about 20 meters from skier turns. Otherwise stable.
