good day up jubilee bowl, wind effect at ridge top left a slab about 5-15cm deep sitting in open areas on north and west aspects, showed a resistant fracture character in column test and very stubborn reaction to a ski cut with no propogation on 30 degree slope. still avoided skiing steep slopes and convexities due to irregularity of snow drifting. skiing below ridge crest on north and west aspects was awesome and made for some good laps. surface hoar was forming in a couple of places along the uptrack in open areas around 1500m already around 2mm
wind slab was sitting on a crust layer 15 cm down 8cm thick but lacks any kind of sudden fracture as none were observed in informal tests throughout the day and in column tests. had an irregular break in a layer of large 4mm+ facets that extended from 74cm down to ground. no striations observed anywhere in this layer so i could not call it depth hoar. significant temperature gradients were observed especially lower down in the snowpack where it exceeded 1 degree per 10cm on every 10cm interval below 85cm
