Blackcomb Backcountry

Awesome day in the blackcomb backcountry. Skied steep alpine slopes on S, NE and N aspects. Did not observe any signs of instability while skiing. Steep slopes had minimal sluffing. S facing slopes below the Cham chutes had a pronounced sun crust, snow was significantly better on polar and shaded aspects. Some wind affect was observed on N facing slopes, especially in the lower disease area. Day started off with cloud cover in the alpine then became full sun by the early afternoon. Alpine winds were strong from the SE at ridgetop all day.
