Quick Observation

Over all it was a good two safe days of mountain travel for us. The day this observation was taken it prompted us to stick to mellower less open terrain. Pit results Jan 24 @ 1045 hours; temp -11, elevation approx 1800m, aspect NNE, pitch 35deg, 155cm snowpack (loaded) CTE 5, Planar @ 30cm, SH/FC layer, Q2 CTM 12, Non-Planar @ 80cm, FC, Q3 Jan 25 @ 1100 hours, Elev 1930m, NNE aspect, 30deg pitch, CTH 22, Non-Planar @ 20cm, SH/FC, Q3 The current snow has small SH growth and developing a thin crust from the warmer alpine temps (sorry forgot to check temp). Apprx 3cm's of new snow feel over night on the 24th, light wind.
