Quick Observation

20cm + of storm snow was being redistributed by extreme transport winds.

Weather

Strong to extreme northerly winds created intense snow transport throughout the day.

Snowpack

Conservative low angle travel produced consistent whumphing and shooting cracks. Strong to extreme winds from the north were facilitating significant wind transport. Two separate layers of storm and windslab are sitting on top of the Jan 16th crust. Storm slab still existed in areas sheltered from the winds. Wind slabs were forming throughout the day.
