Scoping Strathcona

We climbed up to a ridge above Buttle lake today to make good use of the sunshine, and take a look at the alpine. Our views confirmed that while winter does exist on the island, it is limited to a small band up high with a rapid decrease in snowpack as you descend. We saw signs of moderate wind transport but no recent natural avalanches.
