Incident

We could hear the cliffs sluffing from the midpoint of the skin up. When we hit our transition point the sluffing got more frequent, it was on steep cliffs so we figured it was just reducing load. We observed a crownline on the East side of the bowl and we had skinned across some avalanche debris from possibly that morning. We suddenly heard a loud crack and watched the slide come towards us right down the middle, missing my skis by 1 ski length, the cloud of snow-covered us and took a minute or so to clear it was very dry. After it cleared we couldn’t see how far it ran. We finished our transition and started skiing down the avalanche ran 1/3 of the way down the slope.
