Quick Observation
Noticed a few things on the way back from Elgin shelter this morning. Took a route up on the ridge before re-joining the winter route and saw stress cracks on the NW lower face of Paul ridge. Looks like the heavy overnight storm snow is weighing heavily on this face. Snow generally felt slabby in places where westerly winds were either loading or packing east facing slopes, got a few long shooting cracks on a 25 degree slope just after this pic rejoining the winter route back to red heather. Nice turns back down to the hut. Hit a shark just after the fallen tree after the waterfall on the way down :(
