Super thin early season conditions in the front range of the Caribous (Allan Creek anyway) Probed several locations and aspects and found an average of 80cms at upper TL/Alp. Very cool morning in the valley bottom at -18 with a mild inversion up top rising between -8/-10. Light winds from the SW most of the day. Evidence of wind slab development and reverse loading on alpine ridge top features. Cool clear temps are promoting faceting (large loose crystals) and surface hoar development. No avalanche activity seen. Test profile showed 30cms of loose snow on top of stiffer (1f) mid pack. Hard compression test results 30cms down on an old layer of 2-3mm surface hoar. No other hazards noted besides the very shallow depth. Start snow dancing!
