Quick report

The test pit was dug to a depth of 145cm. An Extended Column Test (ECT) was performed and a layer collapsed 61cm down, but did not propagate (ECTN16@61.) While a weak layer was identified in the newer snow, it did not show the propensity to propagate, or spread across the column. No readily apparent signs of instability were observed while riding to/from the observation site.

Snowpack

After receiving 10+ inches of new snow over the last several days, the snowpack has started to settle and turn "right side up." The snow hardness varied from fist hardness (very soft) on the top of the snow column to one finger (relatively hard) near the bottom of the test pit. The total depth of the snowpack was 265 cm.
