Lake O’Hara / Narao area

Checked out Narao. Nice coverage on the rd for x-country skiing, but b-country conditions were pretty underwhelming and varied from OK to alder bashing. You can get a few good turns higher up in still somewhat supportive facets (HS of 80-90cm), but near the road it gets real thin 40cm or so). Wouldn’t bother going there until it gets significantly more snow. We traversed around 2150m well below the loaded areas in trees and checked out KM 3 avi path off Narao. Not in great shape / lots of wind effect with thick to thin and bulletprooof slab. Somebody recently skied or were skiing up (Sat or maybe Sun?) higher up in the steeper portion of the start zone and remote triggered (or got swept) by the cross loaded pocket / debris didn’t run very far - estimate size 1.5 or so. See pic. Trees between 1900-2150m held decent snow.
