before noon, substantial melt freeze crust existed up to 3 cm thick on low angle terrain and all aspects but steep north aspect which was powder. after noon the snow on all aspects became wet and heavy and the crust turned to wet snow (we were riding up to 1800m ) lots of pin wheeling happening naturally and being released by skis. saw many small loose wet slides out of south facing terrain from yesterday and late into today from afternoon temp rising. evidence of upper level mod wind but no noticeable wind slab or slab avalanche evidence at the elevation we were riding.
