Climbed Guinness Gully today (9am-2pm). Temps hovered around -6C. Winds were calm on route, with ridge top winds light to moderate from the SW. Light snow (S-1) during the first half of the morning; maybe 1cm accumulated while we were there. Skies were broken and then opened up to only a few clouds. Below P3 on GG we found 30-60cm HS with some slab properties in isolated locations (directly below the ice pitches where snow would sluff and accumulate). The snowpack is sitting on a weak facets base. We did not observe above P3 where the start zone is. No avalanches observed near Field or on the drive back to Canmore.
Guinness Gully climbed and protected well.
