Great day out on 2000 ridge. 10-15cm new snow since yesterday, combined with the week's accumulation made for excellent ski quality. Observed several point releases, some seemed to be initiated near trees by solar input and most resulted in slow moving sluff. Noted similar recent activity looking across to Liverwurst ridge. Some ski turns also resulted in slow moving sluff that was easily out-waited or avoided. Calm/light wind throughout the day. The recent snow did not seem to be forming slabs and we did not observe any propagation or signs of recent slab avalanches. Chose to transition at ~1750m based on possibility of yesterday's wind activity affecting the underlying snow. Sun was strong at times but didn't last long enough through the mid-day to create significant surface moisture or sun crust. Several other groups out in the area.
