We skied on south and east aspect low angle slopes on the old glacier moraines below Mt Decoeli. We found 30-35cm snow depth below tree line. We noticed widespread wind scouring of all different aspects in the alpine. A thick supportive (rain or temperature?) crust is widespread above tree line in areas that actually have snow ( gullies and concave areas). We found some areas where soft fine grained wind deposited snow overlied the crust ( see photo of ski tracks). We did not see evidence of any recent avalanches, however many steep slopes towards the head of the drainage (North and east aspect) looked wind loaded.
