auto: Quick Report

Benat Larrasquet, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Skied mount Fitzsimmons today, snow was good on the route to the col, no signs of instability. As we got to the top of fitz glacier it was really wind slabby with good propagation. We went a bit further to check the north face and ski cut the top of the convex roll towards the windlip. A stiff windslab 20 cm deep released and propagate across 2/³ of the face and runned all the way down to the glacier. We skied down the face on the avy path, snow obviously was below average but bottom part was skiing good. As we got back to russet hut we witnessed a boarder getting caught by a windslab in banana chute he somehow could self arrest. Watch out for localised wind slabs with good propagation mainly on northerly aspect. Stay safe
