Quick Observation
Surprised to find about 10-20cm of fresh low density snow at the blunt today. A hard surface exists below this, making for poor ski quality that was only made slightly better by the new snow. Lots of old concrete debris at the bottom of avalanche paths that's rock hard and hazardous to ski through. Some small point releases observed in steep terrain where the new snow was naturally sluffing. No wind throughout the day even at ridge top at 1600m. Was probably a bit of wind transport over night, with some soft new cornices that were easy to kick off and only about 5-10cm of new snow in exposed locations, vs the 10-20 in sheltered areas.
