We started from the cemetery at 730am and approached sproatt from the NE route. The snow was fluffy and soft in the trees. Once we entered the alpine we saw evidence of debris from a slab avalanche on the east face (likely day old) with the crown above our path (about 10 m across). Debris below our path is pictured in photo 1. Snow was actually quite stable with no signs of cracking. Otherwise winds were quite strong, picking up plenty of snow in South/West directions. We observed a couple size 1s in the distance to the south on the way up (photo 3)
