Reactive Storm Slabs on Mt Strachan

Heavy snow and moderate to high SE winds with accumulations of 25cm by 5pm. Multiple SC avalanches failed on buried surface hoar from 12/7. Small loose dry avalanches were easy to trigger on all aspects

Multiple intentional ski cut avalanches up to size 1 the largest being about 20cm crown height with 15-20m wide crown. Ran onto flats of road at T-33. Storm snow on convex features and slopes over 30 degrees became very reactive by about 4/5pm and appeared to fall on buried surface hoar from Saturday night/Sunday morning.
