Not so bad

We were hoping to pop out of the cloud and see some sky but the top of of the cloud was still just out of reach where we topped out at 2000 m. So the visibility was poor but the riding was surprisingly decent, ~15cm soft over compacted snow. In the trees, the snow had consolidated since last week and you could walk around sinking just to the top of your boot. Everywhere the surface was covered in thick, lumpy layers of surface hoar and/or rime.
