It was stormy and cold in the Barkerville area with around 7cm+ of new snow falling throughout the day. Strong southwesterly winds were blowing at ridge tops and building up wind slabs on lee north and east faces. We saw a (size 1) wind slab that had freshly released out of the bowl near the cabin, that was around 5-10cm deep. We didn't find any other avalanche problems or deeper layers of concern in the snowpack. The area could use a little more snow to improve the riding quality, conditions were still quite hard and tracked out.
