Weather improved as storm eased, -1C at 1000m around noon with moderate SW wind. Skies broke with cumulus clouds at ridges and strong SW wind up high in afternoon. We found 40cm of fresh storm snow, heavy warm powder, with some wind affect above treeline. New snow sitting on a 2cm thick but crumbly melt freeze layer on south aspects, with a decent bond found on quick hand shears. No avalanche activity observed along highway corridor on way home.
