Little Greys River and Squaw

Rode to Little Greys hoping to get a better understanding of the depth of recent snowfalls in the data sparse areas of this zone following the recent AR event and SW flow. We found about 14" snow since Feb 3rd  with 3' on the ground at 7500', barely enough to cover logs and stumps in the woods but decent riding exists in the meadows. Snow depths were closer to 5 feet at 8800' with 18" of new snow since the crust was buried on Feb 3rd. Stability concerns were found in a weak mid-storm layer which should heal quickly. More of a concerns is the crust that recently developed during the prolonged warm weather in late January and early February. Stability tests yielded a collapse on 14 taps. Propagtion propensity on this layer will likely increase as the recent storm snow forms a slab due to settlement or wind action and faceting may continue as temperatures drop following the cold front passage. Notable is the changes to the Jan 4 layer. At 7500' the facets were moist, smaller than before at 1-2mm and rounding. At 8800', the layer was buried over three feet down.  

Lots of wet loose D1 along the Greys River road and along the Squaw/Murphy drainage.
