Things are still unseasonably thin around the Renshaw with rocks and trees poking up in many unusual places. We had great visibility today and took the opportunity to check things out in the alpine. We found the best riding in deeper pockets of wind loaded terrain. This is also where the hazard is right now, with 10cm of new snow piling into soft wind slabs on lee slopes. We saw several smaller avalanches in big terrain that made us careful about the size of slopes we exposed ourselves to. We played mostly on a small ridge where the runout was short and smooth keeping consequences low and managed our risk by riding one at a time while the other watched from a safe distance.
