Given the high freezing levels we decided to prioritise some beacon search practice. We skied one lap up to the summit of Cokely just because we were there.
Snow conditions on north aspects: Breakable crust from 1620m (summit) down to approx 1400m. Below 1400m the crust was no existent and we had some schmoo to ski back to the truck.
Road conditions: We stopped before the saddle trailhead. We didn't have chains in the truck so decided discretion was the better part of valour. However people were driving trucks and cars as far as the yellow gate with no chains.
