auto: Quick Report

aj.scotland8, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Skied vermillion peak today. Was 15cm of fresh over a friends trail from sunday at the old logging road, about 20-30 till about 500m up were it was 30+ maybe 40+. Travel conditions were slow and deep with unsuppportive snow til about 450+gain were it became more supportive but very deep( knee high ski pen for a brief mid section, mostly boot top ski pen). Depth around road was 40+ cm quickly gained to 1m+. The growth in the burn trees is becoming quite troublesome til up higher. Saw a natural size 1 loose dry out of croppy rocked terrain on west V once the sun broke that ran maybe 250m before stopping short of making it past tree line. No shooting cracks or winds slabs some small insignificant density in the upper pack from wind transport on south facing rolls in alpine treeline. On the summit ridge we made an attempt to curiosly poke at the west face, triggered loose dry size 1s rolling out just short of 100m. Was a cold day sunny no wind, almost to deep to ski(board). Incredible summit views.
