Another early season trip to the Coq. Area lost 50% of the snow pack in 2 weeks. Hiked to the upper half of pipeline, grim and rocky. Skinned the rest. Upper NE slopes were good skiing, 10-20cm on supportive crust. Surface hazards abound, no avalanche activity.
At 1830m HS 50cm, 10cm fresh on 35cm p crust. Air temp -2.2C Ski out was fine to the trees, then tricky, then heinous down pipeline.
