A cold and clear day at Clemina! One slab avalanche observed in a ridge crest feature - unsure of age. Recent wind transport is visible in cornice development, wind loading at ridgecrest and crossloaded features. We dug twice to investigate the tricky crust that is causing issues in many forecast regions, and kept it mellow on sheltered, lower angle slopes. The crust is not present at/above 2100m in this area. At 1800m it is buried down 55cm with facets immediately above, and settling storm snow on top. It did not produce any results. Several interfaces in the recent storm snow produced moderate results in tests.
At 2100m we observed resistant planar moderate and hard CT results in the recent storm snow. Mid and upper snowpack are right side up, with low density snow at the surface making for great riding conditions. At 1800m we observed a resistant planar moderate CT result in the recent storm snow. The December 1 crust is present, buried 55cm deep with a few cm of facets above and below. This layer didn't react to our tests.
