Sastrugi bolognese

Localized drum sounds and shooting cracks, as you’d expect with the wind hammer. Surface hoar underneath the last storm layer in sheltered (specific) areas. Easy failure on hand shear. See snowpack summary. It’s a shame cuz these were the only areas with decent skiing.

Observed from 3rd lake on slalok and stonecrop glacier. Inferred to be storm slab failure

Right side up snowpack! Pit dug in sheltered area. As you’d expect in said area, surface hoar present underneath recent storm snow. CT13(SP), ECTN26 down 40. Anywhere not sheltered was pretty wind hammered. Didn’t poke anywhere w,S,e facing.
