Today we dug pits in three locations on Blackcomb. Foggy above 2000m and rime crust widespread. 1st pit - NW, 11:00am, overcast, -3°, winds light and variable. CTM 4, down 30cms on 2mm rounded facets. ECTN12. Slope angle 40° 2nd pit - NE, 12:00, overcast, -3°, Winds light and variable, CTH26 down 43cm on rounded facets. ECTN 26. 38° slope. 3rd pit- went looking for December layer at 1850m, NW, found crust at 270cm deep with a well consolidated snow pack above. Overall, we observed a well supportive crust to 2000m followed by breakable rime crust to the heavens. Right side up snowpack in alpine.
