Wild and windy

It was very windy up at Shames today. The 20+ cm's of snow that fell in town did not materialize up at the mountain, or perhaps it was all blown away! There was approximately 5cm's of fresh snow at the base of the hill (740m) and at 1200m there was up to 20-40cm's wind deposited snow in protected pockets and on leeward slopes. This wind deposited snow overlies the 12/12/24 rain crust creating a very reactive windslab.
