Quick report
Today we got eyes on a lot of terrain in the Northern Salt River and Wyoming Ranges and saw no signs of slide activity. Since the last storm we've only seen one crown in the Northern Salts in a very steep, rocky, windloaded N facing chute at ~9700'. Big temperature inversions and a lot of sun lately, and today it is started to get crusty on steep sunny slopes at mid and upper elevations. Today we kicked off a few slushy rollerballs in a steep WSW facing chute around 9k'. Light winds up high today and the snow in the high cirques has (mostly) not gotten windhammered since the last storm. Total snowpack is still really shallow down low but in the shade at mid elevations there is currently about a foot of fast, friendly pow on top of the rainaffected base. Lots of sharks are still lurking, so hopefully this next little storm produces more than is forecast. As an aside, I skied GTNP yesterday and we spotted one crown below the Bubblefun on the N side of Buck. NNE faces skied good from 10k down to 8500' and it got progressively dust on crusty down to the valley floor. Bradley and Taggart Lakes froze over recently, Jenny Lake is still open. Coverage is thin on the valley floor but adequate for cautious travel.
