Quick Observation

Great day of skiing, lots of fresh snow. Skiing seemed quite stable on the sub 30 degree below tree line slopes we tested.

Snowpack

We dug a pit at 1295m on a north facing slope and found snow depth to be 240cm. We found the mid January weak layer 45cm down and a small layer about 25cm down from snowfall in the last couple of weeks. There was about 15cm of very light fresh snow from the last few days. We did an extended column test on a 28 degree slope and had slight fracturing in the mid January weak layer on the 25th tap but no clear slab release.
