We ascended Mt Wilson’s NE ridge via Wilson direct April 17th. Overall travel and ski conditions were quite good. 1.5hr bushwhack and walk from highway 11 until you can put your skis on. From there we were able to skin (with crampons) all the way up the south couloir to the col with 2-3cm over a hard crust and some avi debris. Once in the alpine there was 15-20cm low density snow, which moistened when the clouds broke in early afternoon on all aspects except north. We cautiously skied an east aspect off the summit, avoiding pockets of variable thickness windslabs. Probed 165-320cm+ (250cm average) of well settled snow on Wilson Glacier. Heard several whumphs on lower angled shallow terrain in moraine features while approaching the glacier. Other than windslabs in the alpine we had no other avalanche concerns.
