Only party to summit Cathedral today although quite a few checked out the N entrance at the Crags (and at least one party bailed as they reported it looked wind hammered). 7:30 departure and fast travel had us at the S facing couloir by 9:15 as it was just slightly softening up. Lots of loose wet action up to size 2 on the steep S facing head wall as you traverse the bowl (as early as 10:30!). Some snice on the glacier up to the wind lip. Ski crampons useful in the ridge and had to boot pack from the col to the summit. Breakable crust on the way down and best turns were had down the couloir at 2pm - maybe 3-4cm wet on top of hard base made for great fun. Wet mashed potatoes down the drainage and iso snow on the flats near the road.
