Allan Creek

Frozen Pirate, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Had to go check out the apine after the rain in the valley bottom over the week. Was hoping for more but 25cm of new storm snow was enough for a good time. Cloudy day with little wind. Temps sitring at zero at 1300hrs at 2200m. Lots of point release which often turned into small slabs on alpine lee aspects up to sz1. One sz 2 natural windslab in high alpine terrain looks to have came down during last nights strong winds. One sled remote sz1.5 at 2200m on a NE asp. Triggered from approximately 35m away (see photo). If the sun comes out its gonna be a decent time in the high country but respect needs to be given to the avalanche hazard, especially we see more slab development within the new storm snow. See frozenpirate on instagram for a little video of the sled remote. Ride safe.
