dolomite traverse pleasant surprise

late start paired with no real objective for the day led to us settling on dolomite traverse since the day was beautiful, got up to a ridge near lake katherine and saw another group skiing a mellow but fun looking slope and decided to do some laps there instead. slopes skied were on NE aspects and stayed mellow. on our approach and egress, which was SW facing, several instances of whoompfing in small isolated pockets of deeper snow at and above treeline despite a generally shallow snowpack on that aspect. no recent avalanches observed.
