Quick Observation

Spent the much of the day on Boulder mountain in and out of the ping pong ball with ice forming on our goggles. Headed to Alberta Hill just in time for the clouds to clear up and allow for great powder riding. We found some minor wind effect around ridgetop features but otherwise soft snow with 10-30 cm ski penetration. Our profile showed us a progressively dense, right-side up snowpack with test results giving easy to moderate progressive compression shears in lower density snow in the top 50 cm and a hard broken result down 80 cm on a thin lower density layer sandwiched between two stiffer layers. It was great to see evidence of our old persistent weak layers healing up nicely.
