Lots of storm snow lower down (30+cm) which formed into a bit of a wind slab half way up the couloir. Slide started at convexity when skinning up (snow was too deep to boot pack). Unsure on the characteristics of the weak layer was that caused the poor bonding.
All 3 members of the group slid with the avalanche for about 15-30m. Everyone was able to find themselves upright at the end, after being swept over, with snow up to the knees when it stopped.
