Beautiful day out in Manning Park. Our objective was Three Brothers. It was cold in the shade as we set out -- the snow was crusty to start but softened to heavy corn as we gained the ridge and the sun moved higher. At the top of the ridge, there was a prominent crust not far below the surface (5-10cm maybe?) that could be felt with our poles. We heard loud whumpfing (triggered by our group of 2). It sounded like another larger group also heard lots. The final ridge to Three Brothers had a decent cornice on the south side. There were signs of small loose, wet avalanches on the south aspect of Three Brothers. Given the signs, we decided to stick to the mellow ridge. Overall, great day in the sun. Don't forget the sunscreen!
