Hunting protected snow

We did not see any new significant avalanches, but lots of pinwheels and wet loose on steep rocky S aspects, up to size 1. The wind has affected the NE aspects and the snow is now wind pressed. It was breakable crust on the way up, even in protected terrain, but skied pretty darn good on the way down. As we hunt N facing slopes, we are aware of cornices overhead, which we are giving a wide berth as we travel. Mostly sunny today, -5 with a moderate wind from the SW in the afternoon.
